Job Description

The Operational Excellence Senior Manager will be focused on leading continuous improvement projects that support the goals of Monro through the Management Business Objectives process. Improvement projects will involve various departments across Monro. The Operations Excellence Lead will facilitate improved outcomes of processes to drive efficiencies, reduce cost, and increase productivity and service to our customers.

Compensation:  The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000.  This role is eligible for additional compensation and incentives.  Pay will be determined based on experience level.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage Supply Chain Finance (SCF) Program.  Responsible for relationship with SCF platform providers and vendors and funding banks.  This position will need to work with Monro Team and SCF providers to onboard new vendors onto the platform.
  • Work closely with the needs of Monro Corporate Department Towers through relationship with Cognizant who contracts over 200 positions for various Monro Departments. 
  • Manage the Concur Travel and Expense tool and the Credit Card and Travel Policy
  • Manage the Corporate Credit Card program through JP Morgan.
  • Support Monro and vendor initiatives including developing EDI relationships and contractual obligations.
  • Administer software workflow tools Blackline, Basware, Concur Expense and Travel and others.
  • Lead a team to drive cross-functional initiatives to completion.
  • Work with Finance Leadership to identify and facilitate improvement projects.
  • Conduct and lead continuous improvement projects to achieve measured results.
  • Conduct root cause analysis across various Finance and Operational functions to determine items that may lead to inefficiencies and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Coach and train both hourly and salary employees on any specific related OpEx improvements.
  • Help support and develop a culture that promotes operational excellence and continuous improvements.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate scope of projects and report to Monro Leadership with weekly status reports.
  • Identify and analyze business needs, stakeholders and linkages to other projects and define project scope and objectives.
  • Work Closely with the Project Management Office to formulate the project plan, determine budget and required resources, clarify role and involvement level of team members and acquire approval.
  • Work closely with the Project Management Office to coordinate, monitor and drive project activities, manage project risks, issues, changes and resources and take corrective actions when necessary. Decides and initiates action.
  • Provides those working on the projects with a clear sense of direction, motivating and empowering them to initiate sustainable improvements to their current processes and work environments. Builds teamwork through engagement and aligns team members by tying to individual and collective goals.
  • Evaluate and close project, identify and analyze lessons learned, archive project documents and hand over project to end user.
  • Provide insights regarding quantitative and qualitative developments by means of periodic and ad hoc reports and/or analyses.

Management Responsibility: 

The Operations Excellence Senior Manager will have a team of various sizes reporting to them and operates under the direction of the Senior Director of Tax / Treasury

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (Finance related preferred) and 5+ years’ experience in a Finance or Operations role with broad Finance functional experience.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Fundamental understanding of project management
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodology
  • Solid awareness of business process design and implementation and financial analysis
  • Passion for change and continuous improvement
  • Able to impart knowledge to others and to learn quickly
  • Proven ability to plan and prioritize work and drive cross functional projects to completion
  • Good analytical skills and capacity for statistics
  • Demonstrated high performance levels and ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
  • Team management skills and the capability to lead change
  • Effective communicator
  • Proficient in the use of tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word to analyze data, create reports and presentations.
  • Able to work effectively across different organizational levels, from operational to management
  • Ability to influence without direct leadership

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners and fax machines.  Position requires prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
