Job Summary
A company is looking for a Medical Records Coordinator to manage client medical records and support legal proceedings.
Key Responsibilities
- Request, collect, organize, and maintain client medical records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Track outstanding medical record requests and follow-up with providers through fulfillment
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and medical providers to obtain necessary medical documentation
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in health information management or related field preferred
- 1-3 years experience in medical records management, preferably in a legal or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation practices
- Proven and signed discretion and integrity when handling confidential financial and client data, HIPAA, etc
- Background in legal services and familiarity with legal terminology and practices is a plus
