Title: Sr. Manager Professional Services Engineering

Location: Rochester, NY; hybrid candidates considered with 50% on-site presence


The objective of the Role: Responsible for leading and developing a team of cloud engineers and architects who deliver AWS solutions to our clients through our Professional Services delivery team. This role combines technical leadership with people management to ensure high-quality service delivery while fostering team growth and professional development. The ideal candidate will bring strong AWS expertise alongside proven management experience to build and maintain high-performing technical teams.




 Top candidates will have the following:

1.       Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing technical teams in a professional services environment

2.       Deep understanding of AWS services and cloud architecture principles

3.      Proven track record of developing and mentoring technical professionals

4.      Excellence in resource allocation and project delivery oversight

5.      Strong business acumen with ability to balance technical excellence and business objectives

6.      Demonstrated success in building client relationships and managing technical stakeholder expectations

7.      Experience with implementing and improving service delivery processes

8.      Data-driven approach to team performance management and quality metrics

9.      Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment



Required Experience for the Role:

1.      Must have minimum of 5 years of experience in professional services, with at least 2 years in a technical team leadership role

2.      Must have AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification or ability to obtain within 6 months

3.      Must have experience managing engineers and architects in a billable hours environment

4.      Must have proven track record of successful project delivery in professional services

5.      Must have experience with cloud migration, modernization, and implementation projects

6.      Must have strong understanding of AWS Well-Architected Framework and best practices

7.      Must have demonstrated ability to develop and implement technical standards and methodologies

8.      Must have experience with resource planning and capacity management


Preferred Experience for the Role:

1.      Additional AWS certifications beyond Solutions Architect Professional

2.      Experience working with an AWS Premier Partner

3.      Experience in architecting and delivering GenAI solutions within a professional services environment

4.      Experience with Agile methodologies and timeline-based delivery

a.      Ensure consistent high-quality delivery across all team projects

b.      Implement and maintain technical standards and best practices

4.      Technical Oversight

a.      Review and approve technical solutions and architectures

b.      Ensure adherence to AWS Well-Architected Framework principles

c.      Guide technical decision-making across projects

d.      Stay current with AWS services and cloud industry trends

5.      Business Operations

a.      Support sales team with technical expertise and scoping
