We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Director of SEO & Demand Generation (DG) Content to drive our organic growth and lead our demand generation content efforts. This role will own SEO strategy and execution, manage DG content across the funnel, and lead a high-impact team responsible for crafting compelling content that attracts, nurtures, and converts leads.
The ideal candidate is an expert in SEO, content strategy, and demand generation who thrives in a cross-functional environment, partnering with teams across product marketing, brand, growth, and campaigns.
Please note: This is a hybrid role that will be based in Bellevue, WA and requires an in-office presence three days per week (Tuesday-Thursday).
Key Responsibilities
Lead SEO strategy and execution, driving organic growth and optimizing Freshworks’ digital presence
Manage SEO agency and external partners, ensuring best-in-class strategies and execution
Oversee a small but mighty team of DG content creators, producing high-impact content for top, middle, and bottom-funnel leads
Develop and optimize demand generation content journeys, ensuring seamless audience experiences across channels
Partner with campaign managers, brand, product marketing, and cross-functional teams to align SEO and DG content with marketing goals
Own content performance tracking and reporting, using data-driven insights to improve organic visibility and conversion
Stay ahead of SEO trends, AI-driven content strategies, and search engine algorithm updates
Implement SEO best practices for multi-region, multi-language enterprise websites
Spearhead website migrations, CMS transitions, and technical SEO enhancements
Lead technical SEO initiatives, including site architecture, crawlability, indexation, schema markup, Core Web Vitals, and page speed optimizations
Collaborate with engineering and web development teams to implement structured data, optimize JavaScript rendering, and ensure SEO-friendly site performance
Innovate with AI, personalization, and marketing automation to scale content and enhance engagement
10+ years of experience in SEO and content marketing, preferably in B2B SaaS
Proven experience leading SEO strategies and demand gen content efforts at scale
Strong expertise in technical SEO, content strategy, local SEO, and link-building
Experience managing SEO agency relationships and internal teams
Deep understanding of demand gen funnels and content-driven customer journeys
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and other SEO tools
Experience with marketing automation tools, A/B testing, and conversion rate optimization
Working knowledge of HTML, CMS platforms (WordPress), and web development best practices
Ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams
Experience using AI and automation to scale content creation and optimization
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a thought leadership mindset

This role is based in the Seattle Metro Area, and the expected base salary range for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for a target bonus.
Compensation Package
$168,000-$276,000 USD Base Salary + Variable Compensation
