Base Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour

2nd Shift: 3:45 pm - 12:15 am

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Lead Technician to ensure that non-conforming products do not progress through the production process or reach customers. In this role, you will be the primary contact for tactical quality-related issues and procedures. You will conduct routine quality inspections of raw materials and finished goods throughout production to ensure consistency with established product quality specifications. These inspections include in-process and final inspections, as well as performing excursion investigations using Quick Problem-Solving and Root Cause Analysis methods to support the manufacturing process and guarantee the delivery of high-quality materials.

• Drive quality at the source by equipping work areas with necessary quality tools.
• Outline critical-to-quality process steps and understand the capabilities, controls, and required equipment and tools to perform job functions effectively.
• Support supervisors and operations with line decisions.
• Conduct a variety of tests to determine quality within established performance parameters, notifying operators or supervisors for quick correction.
• Audit the quality of incoming materials, work-in-progress materials, and finished products in accordance with quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with previous and following shifts’ Quality Assurance Technicians regarding product quality, issues, and the status of work in progress.
• Lead or participate in teams with members and vendors to resolve quality problems, investigate concerns, collect necessary data, and address complaints using the established Cornerstone Building Brands Quality Problem-Solving methodology.
• Monitor internal metrics, driving initiatives and projects to improve quality as a competitive advantage.
• Create plant visual quality standards and documentation.
• Provide feedback to customer service and plant staff regarding testing results and root causes.
• Maintain strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate proficiency with basic PC skills.
• Provide training to Production Associates regarding product quality.
• Assist in developing and maintaining of quality records and retention.

• Education: High School Graduate/GED
• 2 years for quality related experience
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Problem-solving, analyzing data and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Proficient in using measuring equipment and quality control equipment
• Strong understanding of quality control procedures and manufacturing processes
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Proven ability to maintain quality control documentation and records
• Ability to operate computer and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Email, PowerPoint. Excel and Word.
