Job Overview/Summary
The Business Development Associate (BDA) will qualify leads to generate sales opportunities from various lead generation sources. The BDA’s main objective is to connect customers with sales representatives and allow them to further the lead through the sales process. The BDA will maintain and be expected to consistently meet monthly and quarterly lead conversion goals through accurately creating activities in Salesforce.com in a concise and comprehendible manner.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Establishes relationships with new clients
· Utilize internal and external data resources to conduct research on organizations and contacts to help drive quality of new leads and sales opportunities.
· Maintain a working knowledge of site capabilities to educate prospects on the value of our services
· Arrange weekly meetings with assigned field sales representatives and collaborate closely with the business development team to develop plans of action for prospective and current clients
· Attend tradeshows and conduct cold calls to prospective clients
· Respond to Requests for Proposals, Requests for information, and other similar requests from clients
· Gather market information by identifying sources of information for drug discovery, formulation development, analytical chemistry, and manufacturing offerings.

· At least 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry with working knowledge of drug discovery, product development and manufacturing including chemistry, DMPK, formulation development and analytical testing.
· Bachelor’s Degree required.
· Coachable with a willingness to learn and take direction.
· A talent for conducting independent research and data mining.
· Knowledge and experience with business software applications including MS Outlook Suite. SFDC or an equivalent CRM system, and virtual communication tools required.
Preferred Qualifications
· At least three years of hands-on experience in proposal/contract generation and/or technical writing in a pharmaceutical or contract research organization is strongly preferred.
· 1+ years of experience in a Sales, Demand, or Lead Generation focused role preferred.
· Experience in technology, equivalent industry with high degree of complexity preferred
