Backend Platform Engineering Manager

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Engineering Manager (Backend Platform).

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve backend service standards, paved paths, and shared libraries
• Deliver high-performing CI/CD pipelines and secure, cost-efficient runtime infrastructure
• Build and mentor a high-performing, inclusive team while aligning priorities and ensuring execution of strategic objectives

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering management experience leading platform/infra teams of 5-10+ engineers
• Proven ownership of CI/CD, Kubernetes (EKS or similar), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Pulumi) in production
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and operations, with experience in SLO/SLI and incident response leadership
• Security and compliance awareness (e.g., IAM, secrets management, change controls)
• Experience with streaming, distributed databases, or service mesh is a plus
