Role:  Senior Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Commissioning Engineer 

Veritas is seeking a Senior MEP Commissioning Engineer to join our hands-on team to assist in commissioning complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in new and existing buildings, with the mindset to provide our client with reliability, energy efficiency, and sustainability. You would gain exposure to some of the highest-profile projects in New York City, spanning commercial real estate, healthcare, financial services, hospitality, and multi-family marketplaces, and experience the latest innovations in energy efficiency technologies. 

 

Leadership Responsibilities: 

  • Lead a Team of 2-3 Commissioning Engineers  
  • Manage assigned projects and resources   
  • Interact with clients and maintain relationships 
  • Assist with developing project proposals  
  • Assist with the development and enhancement of standard operating procedures  

Technical Responsibilities: 

  • Assist clients to develop owner’s project requirements   
  • Review project design documents and submittals 
  • Develop project-specific MEP commissioning plans and procedures 
  • Prepare project-specific pre-functional and functional performance test scripts 
  • Development of commissioning schedules and manage the commissioning process 
  • Conduct field inspections of projects and generate field observation reports 
  • Direct functional testing of equipment on a unitary and system-wide basis 
  • Analyze system performance using historical data, site measurements, and trending 
  • Troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems and controls 
  • Review procedures and oversee the Testing and Balancing (TAB) process 
  • Document all testing procedures and findings 
  • Write comprehensive reports that include recommendations for optimizing building operations, function test results, a list of deficiencies, and O&M procedures 
  • Host meetings with building owners and contractors throughout the Cx process 

Requirements: 

  • 8+ years’ experience in commissioning HVAC and electrical equipment 
  • Knowledge of various codes and standards (IMCC, IFGC, IEEC, NEC, NFPA, and ASHRAE) 
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and control systems 
  • Understanding of electrical testing standards and inspections  
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at one time 
  • Willingness to work occasionally after-hours and weekend shifts to execute inspections and testing

Estimated Compensation: 

The estimated pay range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000. The salary listed is an estimate and is not guaranteed. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
