AppSumo: Submission Guide, Domain Rating & Alternatives

AppSumo (appsumo.com) is a SaaS directory with a Domain Rating of 83, ranking 24 of 262 among SaaS directories and 31 of 508 overall. That puts it in the top 10% of every directory tracked here.

Its outbound links are nofollow, so a listing will not pass authority to your domain. The value here is referral traffic and the brand mention, not SEO. At this authority level the listing is worth the submission effort even if approval takes a few weeks.

How to submit to AppSumo

1. Open appsumo.com and look for the submit, add product, or get listed link, usually in the header or footer.
2. Have your assets ready before you start: a one-line pitch, a longer description, a logo, and two or three screenshots. Most rejections are for incomplete listings, not bad products.
3. Write the description for this directory specifically. Pasting the same paragraph everywhere is the single clearest signal of a low-effort submission, both to moderators and to search engines.
4. AppSumo uses nofollow links, so optimise for the click rather than the link: lead with the benefit, not the keyword.
5. Record where and when you submitted. Approval on directories at this authority level can take days to weeks, and you will want to follow up.
